How each paper is built

Exam pattern

What each paper is made of: how many questions come from each subject, what they are worth, how long you get, and the mark that counts as a pass. These figures are read from the same records the syllabus pages use, so the two cannot drift apart.

60% of the full marks counts as a pass. Stated in NCTE Notification No. 76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad, 11 February 2011.

School managements may apply their own reservation concessions to this mark, in line with their extant policy.

What the qualifying mark does and does not mean

Qualifying a TET does not by itself entitle anyone to a post: it is one eligibility condition among the ones the recruiting body sets.

Practice on this site is marked the same way, so a percentage here means what a percentage means in the real paper. The cut-off that actually decides a recruitment is whatever the Board announces for that cycle, and it is not this number.
